Well, it wasn't the extravagant Pokemon birthday party we had been planning for 12 of his friends for three months. But we celebrated this incredible 10-year-old with gusto! He sure is amazing.
He was quite excited, as you can see, to count up the gift money gifted to him from grandparents and aunts and uncles! Haha! He has many ideas about what he might purchase.
A school friend surprised him by stopping by and singing to him and giving him a candy cake and a pass for a trip to the movies (when they ever reopen)! He LOVED seeing a friend, albeit briefly!
His big family gift was a new mountain bike. His previous bike was a city bike and not quite suitable for the off-road riding he likes to do in our new neighborhood. It was also the bike which he had been riding when he was hit by a car last year, so this was a special gift to ''move on'' from the old.
This boy is a huge fan of cherries. So cherry cake it is!
And some friends have been sending him stamps to add to a stamp collection he has started. A couple cards locally came in just in time for his birthday!
Although blurry, this was such a sweet moment. The kids gifted each other with the same remote-controlled car so they could play with them together in the driveway. They were both so excited!
