Another 40 Year Old to Celebrate

I joined the ranks of 40-year-olds.  My family celebrated me well in the midst of crazy pandemic restrictions.  I made my own anglefood cake!  Yum!

This was a Christmas/Birthday gift for both of us!  We are soooo excited for the weather to warm up and enjoy this swing!

 

Winter Fun

Nathanael and I enjoyed the snow during the lockdown.  When he didn't have an 8am class, we often went sledding in the morning!

We surprised Gregory with a night without the kids.  They were even able to keep it a secret!

We had a most peaceful birthday breakfast together.

And we still had half a day to celebrate this awesome guy together.

STILL in Lockdown #3

(I think it is safe to say that the art teacher was trying to find something for the unexpected extra weeks of virtual schooling!  hahaha!  Snowflakes were a nice break from all the other subjects.)

I also must admit that I watched the video with Nathanael to learn about Strauß.  That was fascinating!

We enjoyed 4-5 days straight of snow, and that was such fun in the midst of lockdown!

And 2021 Begins

We rang in the new year together, taking a long family walk, watching a movie, playing some games, and taking a walk in the fog at midnight. Sadly, we saw very few fireworks due to the fog, but we could hear them all!

The Christmas of 2020

Normally at Christmastime, we have soooo many photos from relatives visiting us.  This year was definitely different. We still made the time special, and we were able to celebrate minimally with some church family.  We are thankful for skype and zoom calls, as much as we hate virtual calls, and the kids had fun opening gifts, as usual.  I even somehow managed a couple special meals in the midst of the chaos, which was totally more for Gregory and me than for the kids.  All those vegetables!
