On Christmas Eve, we flew to England to spend a few days with Opa, Oma, Uncle Andrew, Auntie Angie, and Desmond. It was wonderful to be together!

December Moments to Keep
December began with a phonecall from the school office to let us know that our request to switch Nathanael's school was approved, and they would enact the switch in five days! Aaah! We were shocked but knew it was the right decision. We had two school days to visit the new school and say bye to the old, shop for supplies, and mentally prepare. Nathanael did awesome. As a "new school" gift, Dad and I bought him a couple chapter books in German. He sat in this rocking chair for over an hour, devouring the books! (One was a detective book; the other was a police story book.)

I LOVE that I can jog one of my favorite paths to Nathanael's school for the noon pick-up!

And then two days later:
Just in time for Christmas!
The bottom floor will not be finished until Feb/March, but we are happy to have privacy and visibility again!

Celebrating St. Nicholas
We mesh holidays a lot. It's just too confusing to try to stick to only American or only Austrian holidays. So this year, as we also did last year, we gave the kids their Christmas gifts on St. Nicholas' day. It's actually really practical since we have traveled at Christmas the last two years.
